Tessa Fry specialises in employment law. She also advises on business immigration. Tessa advises companies and individuals on all aspects of employment law from appointment to dismissal and tribunal claims.  Tessa has particular expertise in dealing with contentious terminations and settlement agreements. She regularly advises on equality and diversity issues and in particular, disability discrimination.  Business immigration advice includes applications for sponsorship licences, investors, entrepreneurs, residency, visitor permits, illegal working and related issues.

Tessa has considerable experience in advising companies and individuals on all aspects of employment law from appointment to dismissal and employment tribunal proceedings. This includes employment contracts, termination of employment, settlement agreements, disciplinary and grievance procedures, sickness absences, transfer of undertakings, restrictive covenants and family friendly policies. She has also handled numerous employment tribunal claims relating to unfair dismissal, discrimination (race, sex, disability, age), unlawful deduction of wages and appeals to the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

Tessa also advises on business immigration covering applications for sponsorship licences including temporary visas for the sports and creative industries, investors and entrepreneurs and for settled status for EU nationals.

General immigration advice includes visitor permits, marriage, residency, nationality, appeals and illegal working.

Tessa qualified as a solicitor in 1989.  She joined Grower Freeman in 2019.

Tessa’s publications on employment and immigration law include articles in the Guardian online, People Management, Reward, The Recruiter, New Law Journal and ELA Briefing. Media work includes four interviews on Resonance FM (The Workplace). She also participated in an international webinar on the legal aspects of executive coaching for the ACEC.
